How Much Does Drone Photography Cost in Cyprus? (2026 Price Guide)

Nobody publishes honest pricing in this industry, which is why every hotel manager and villa owner starts with the same two questions: what does drone work cost in Cyprus, and why do quotes for 'the same thing' range from €150 to €2,000? This guide answers both — with real market ranges, what drives them, and where paying less genuinely costs more.

    The Market Ranges in 2026

Basic aerial stills of a single property — a set of drone photos, minimal editing — trade between €150 and €350 across Cyprus. At this level you're mostly paying for the flight itself; several budget operators around Paphos advertise in this band.

A professional drone photography session — planned angles, golden-hour timing, RAW capture, real retouching — runs €250 to €600 for a single property. The difference from the budget tier isn't the drone; it's composition, light and post-production, which is most of what makes an image usable in marketing.

Drone video starts around €400–€500 for a single-location shoot including editing and color grading, because video roughly doubles the post-production work. A finished, graded 60–90 second property film is the standard deliverable at this level.

FPV one-shot productions — the unbroken flights through hotels and restaurants that dominate hospitality social media — range €500 to €1,200 depending on route complexity and whether the flight goes indoors. The premium reflects scarcity: indoor FPV at commercial standard is a rare skill in Cyprus.

Full hotel productions — aerial plus ground coverage, FPV, twilight sessions, photography and social cuts from the same days — run €1,500 to €4,000+ for most Cyprus properties. Resorts with multi-day shoots sit above that. For context, that's usually less than the property spends on OTA commissions in a slow week, for content used across years.

    What Actually Drives the Price

Light and timing. Golden-hour and twilight work compresses every job into short daily windows — an operator can shoot one twilight session a day, and that scarcity is priced in. It's also the difference between imagery that looks premium and imagery that looks like a Tuesday afternoon.

Post-production. Editing and grading typically consume more hours than flying. Quotes that seem cheap usually thin out exactly here — auto-graded footage, minimal retouching — which is why the results look cheap in ways clients can't always name but guests absolutely feel.

Compliance. Registration, certification, insurance and permission-handling are real costs of legal operation. A quote €100 below everyone else's sometimes just means the insurance doesn't exist — which becomes your problem the moment something goes wrong over your property. Our Cyprus drone laws guide covers what to verify.

Location and logistics. Airport-zone permissions (much of Larnaca), venue coordination, and mountain or offshore work add planning time. Within-Cyprus travel usually shouldn't add much — be sceptical of large 'travel fees' on a 60-kilometre island.

Cheap, Mid, Premium: What You Get

The €150 tier buys a drone in the air over your property. It's genuinely fine for a quick land-plot record or a personal keepsake. It's the wrong tool for marketing: the images will sit next to competitors' professional content on the same platforms, and buyers scroll past the difference in half a second.

The mid tiers buy craft: planned shots, correct light, real grading. This is where most hotels, villas and listings should live, because it's where content starts earning rates and bookings rather than just existing.

The premium tiers buy strategy: productions planned against marketing calendars, multi-format delivery, and content systems rather than files. The right question isn't 'what does a video cost' but 'what does a booking-page film, a month of Reels and an OTA photo refresh cost as one production' — combined shoots are consistently the best value in this market.

    Questions That Sort Operators Fast

Ask for the EASA operator registration number. Ask to see insurance certificates. Ask who does the color grading and in what software. Ask for two full-resolution recent deliveries, not a showreel. And ask what happens if weather ruins the light — professionals reschedule at no cost; amateurs deliver grey footage.
